5 Ways Feng Shui Vision Boards Help You Reach Your Dreams

February 15, 2019 by @elioverbey

There are people waiting for you to tell your story and share the gifts only you have. Telling your breakthrough story inspires others to believe they can transform too.

Don’t make them wait too long.

A Feng Shui Vision Board helps you align your dreams and intentions with your surroundings, to magnify your ability to reach your dreams.

Do you have a dream? Are you living your ideal life?

Is there something that seems to drive you? It could be answering the questions,

  • Who am I?
  • Why am I here?
  • How can I make a difference in my family or the world?
  • How to create a space that supports inner peace?

Do you set goals for yourself, either in your personal life or for your business?

When was the last time you allowed yourself to daydream about your ideal life or business? I mean turn off the computer, the phone, the television kind of time to be quiet and dream.

Most importantly, what do you really want for your life and/or business?

Do you know your WHY?

What is the reason behind all that you do?

It might be to:

  • Live in financial freedom
  • Create fulfilling relationships or community
  • Find inner peace
  • Live in vibrant health
  • Make a difference in the lives of your family and/or clients
  • Show up as your best self

It is important to know what drives you.

Knowing your WHY helps you stay focused.

A Feng Shui Vision Board is a creative tool to help you access both sides of your brain.

It is as if there is a dance going on between the right(creative) side and the left(analytical) side of your brain.

The images on a vision board open your mind to the possibilities because you see images of what you desire.

Placing the vision board in the correct position in your space creates better flow and makes it easier for you to take the actions necessary to make your dream happen.

Let’s explore 5 ways Feng Shui Vision Boards Help You Reach Your Dreams:

# 1 – A Feng Shui Vision board makes you focus on what’s important to you.

As you explore the 9 Feng Shui areas of life you prioritize which area you want to focus on first.

The 9 Feng Shui areas of life are wealth, fame, relationships, career, family, health, inner magnificence, helpful people, and children. I suggest you choose 1 or 2 areas to focus on first.

Whether you combine a personal vision board with a professional one or keep them both separate, thinking about what you want in life or in business forces you to prioritize what’s important.

Do you want a fulfilling relationship or better health? Putting a photo of a couple having fun or an active healthy person will inspire you to stay focused on your dream and not give up when taking action gets hard.

#2 – Visualization stimulates the creative side of your brain.

Creating a Feng Shui Vision Board is relaxing and gives you access to the right, feeling, dreaming, creative side of your brain. When you spend time having fun and allowing your right brain to be free you open the gates to more creativity flowing.

Now your creativity is flowing, keep a notebook handy to jot down any ideas you have for a new exercise plan, meditation routine, or relationship boosters you may want to create.

Placing your Feng Shui Vision Board where you can see it often, serves as a daily reminder of what you want to achieve.

Tip: Take a good look at your Feng Shui Vision Board before you go to bed. Some believe it helps stimulate your subconscious mind. Imagine everything you want coming to you. It will also help you be motivated to take the necessary actions in the morning.

#3 – Focusing on your dream helps you see new resources and opportunities.

Visualizing yourself living with prosperity (or whatever your primary goal is) will motivate you to work towards that goal but you’ll also notice new opportunities and resources which can lead you to reach your dream.

The resources may have always been around you, but you did not see them until you created a dream and focused on your dream. You will see the resources in a new light now, as a way to help you reach your intended dream.

#4 – Say Good-bye to your comfort zone by visualizing a big, scary dream.

Are you playing small because you’re afraid to break out of your comfort zone? Do you feel stuck with no idea how to get unstuck?

Let yourself have a big dream, even if it seems too big to accomplish.

Acknowledging big dreams as scary and outrageous as they may be –will help you step out and take on new challenges, learn new skills, all in the name of reaching that big dream.

If your dream is to share your message and speak in front of an audience of 1,000 at your favorite conference. When you put an image of that on your Feng Shui Vision Board you’ll start to see more opportunities for smaller speaking engagements.

These smaller gatherings will give you lots of practice and build name recognition so when the organizers of your favorite conference announce they’re looking for speakers, you’ll be well prepared to submit your name.

#5 – Seeing a big dream, forces you out of fear and into action.

Nothing happens without some action on your part.

Vision boards are not magic tricks; they are instead a tool that inspires you into action because you know what we want and you use images, create it, believe it, and take the actions you need to make it happen.

Visualize your ideal life then approach each day with action steps which will lead you toward that ideal life.

Your big dream is inside you, waiting for you to say yes to it. People need what only you have to offer. Isn’t it time to take the next step to make it happen.

Create A Life & Business To Sync Up With Your Soul During The Earth Pig Year

February 6, 2019 by @elioverbey

All she needed was a ticket and she could climb aboard and claim her seat for the ride of a lifetime. Once inside she noticed the gigantic windows on all 4 sides, it was a panoramic view of the crowd below. She could see the future from her seat above it all.

She was ready to step into the future and enjoy the adventure.

It was 1959 and she was a passenger gliding along on the first monorail, to operate daily in the Western hemisphere. She was in Disneyland in Anaheim, California riding the monorail.

The last time the world experienced an Earth Pig year was in 1959.

Look how far we have come. From the monorail to rapid transit and now self-driving cars.

The energy of the Earth Pig in 2019 will be similar to the energy of 1959, just an updated version.

The Earth Pig year officially began on February 5, 2019.

What does that mean for you?

Imagine you just found out you have a guest coming to live with you for a year. The Earth Pig is moving in, suitcases and all.

Want to know something about the Earth Pig? After all, he going to be influencing your inner peace, abundance, relationships, health and career all year long.

What energy does the Earth Pig bring to you this year? Here are a few clues. The story of the great race.

“The Jade Emperor decided to have a great race among the animals to determine which animals would be honored and included in the Chinese Zodiac. The animals were excited with the idea of being chosen among the top twelve. The rat and the cat made a deal to ride on the back of the ox and leap off when they got close to the finish line to be first to cross the finish line and win a spot in the Chinese zodiac. During the race, the rat startled the cat and the cat fell into the river and was washed away. That is why there is no cat in the Chinese Zodiac. Some say that is also why the cat does not like the rat to this day.

The animals came across the finish line in various ways. The rat jumped off the back of the ox and ran across the finish line first. Then came the ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, ram, monkey, rooster, and dog. The Jade Emperor was standing at the finish line congratulating each animal as they crossed and claimed their position in the Chinese zodiac. The Jade Emperor looked around, there were only eleven animals. He wondered who would be number twelve. Along came the pig, he was the last to cross the line. The Jade Emperor was surprised he was last considering the pig’s speed in running. The Emperor asked the pig why he came in last.

Listen to his answer. You will get insights into the kind of energy the pig brings you this year.

The pig replies, “I would have been here sooner, but I was hungry along the way and decided to stop for snacks. After eating I was tired and took a nap.” The Jade Emperor knows this is the nature of the pig, no sense in scolding him, and welcomes him into the zodiac with the others.”

The pig has no trouble taking care of him or herself without guilt. It is his nature to make sure his needs are met. The pig does not care what others think about his self-care habits. He has no desire to be first, even though he is a fast runner. His snack and nap could have caused him to lose the race and that did not matter.  He told the truth to the Jade Emperor, honesty is a strong characteristic of the pig.

What energy does the pig bring? The quality of these characteristics is readily available to you this year when you listen to your Soul messages and intend to incorporate them into your life. These are the characteristics of the pig:

  • Honest to self, first and then others
  • Kindness to self and others. It is easier to be kind than mean
  • Self-indulgence, life is short and there is no time to waste without enjoyment
  • Generous and happy to share what they have with others
  • Loves to have fun. Put this in big red letters. Life must be fun
  • Positive outlook, they look from the perspective that life is great, and everything will work out
  • Creative in all aspects of life. Art, travel, problem-solving, innovation, and love
  • Strong sense of responsibility especially for family

Which pig characteristics describe how you operate with yourself and the world?

Do you have pig characteristics you want to incorporate or improve this year?

This is the year to become more aware of yourself, your physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

The energies of this year are a combination of the earth element and the pig characteristics.

What energy does the earth bring? These are the characteristics of the earth this year:

  • Movable, flexibility to stay centered with all that is happening around you
  • Practical, keep it simple and nothing too extravagant
  • Reliable, do what you say you are going to do
  • Satisfied with the choices you make, otherwise, make new choices until you are satisfied
  • Nourishing to self and others. (The nourishing sounds a bit like the pig).

Taking care of yourself appears in characteristics of the earth element and the pig, which means this is a major area to pay attention to this year.

This is the year to create a life and business to sync up with your soul by listening to your Soul messages.

“Life is a dance between heaven and earth, the ebb and flow of life”

How do you create flow in your life and business this year?

Flow is about energy, what you see and what you feel.

Everything you want is in the flow: inner peace, abundance, fulfilling relationships, a meaningful career, vibrant health, and happiness.

I have been a Feng Shui practitioner for 24 years and discovered there is an inner flow and an outer flow. It is not enough to get your outer surroundings in order if your inner landscape is cluttered with limited thoughts and beliefs.

Inner Flow

Inner flow is that place where your soul, inner magnificence, and intuition connect. The Soul is mysterious because it seems to be hidden from you. Yet it is available for you when you learn to listen to its messages.

As an intuitive transmitter, it is always giving you feedback, even when you are not listening.

Your desire to live a life that matters, to mean something to some, and make a difference are calls from your Soul.

Outer Flow

Outer flow is about energy and your surroundings. It is visible energy in your space, your furniture is visible energy. It is also about invisible energy present in your space, your emotions are invisible energy

Have you been in a room with someone and you could feel their emotions of love or anger without them saying a word? Emotions create an energy vibration in your spaces and can be uplifting or draining to your flow.

Flow happens when the inner flow of your soul, inner magnificence and intuition is aligned with the outer flow of your physical and energetic surroundings.

When you sync up your life and business with your Soul you enter a state of flow. The Pig is here to help you do just that this year.

Benefits of Flow

  • Inner peace
  • More freedom, fun, and flexibility
  • Confidence to take the right actions
  • More of what you want
  • Live a life that matters, has meaning and is fulfilling physically, emotionally and spiritually

Why Chinese Astrology?

The energy of the Earth Pig is upon you, whether you believe it or not. The characteristics of the earth element and the pig are easy to access this year. When aligned with them and your flow it is easier to create a life and business to sync up with your Soul.

You have a unique energy signature based on these four times of your birth: year, month, day and hour, also known as your 4 pillars. Each pillar has an animal and element associated with it which reveal your destiny blueprint.

When you know the characteristics of your 4 pillars you have a better understanding of yourself, your strengths and challenges, and your needs in relationships, careers, health, abundance, and family.

When your inner flow, outer flow, earth pig energy flow is aligned it is simple to create a life and business to sync up with your Soul.

9 Tips to Overcome Procrastination and Boost Your Confidence – Part 2

June 6, 2018 by @elioverbey

In part 1 you met Francine, she was struggling with procrastination in the area of her health and happiness. Have you ever wanted to get healthier and not been able to get started or started but not been able to stay with it?Read Part 1 Here

Meet Francine, a small business owner, author, wife, mother, effective communicator,  and spiritual seeker. She had solid relationships with her clients, friends and family.

There was that one area of her life that kept her frustrated because she could not get started or if she started she could not stay with it.

The doctor told her if she lost 15 pounds she would feel better, have more energy, and help her heart be healthier.  Part of her knew he was right and part of her believed she would be on the road of endless sacrificing. She just wanted to be thinner without giving up the foods that she loved.

Francine had talked about dieting but never actually made the changes that would make her happier and, healthier. She always said she would start next Monday. When next Monday arrived she would procrastinate by finding other activities to keep her too busy to pay attention to her health.

Everyone procrastinates on something. It’s important to recognize that Francine and you are not alone, procrastination is normal, and there are strategies you can embrace to get through it.

In fact, procrastination is so common that strategies have been tested and proven. Here are the top four tips to overcome procrastination from part 1 Read Part 1 here

Tip #1-  Give it Five or Ten

Tip #2 –  Find Your Why

Tip # 3 –  Work on Your Discipline

Tip #4 – Set Realistic Goals

Here are tips 5 through 9 to help you overcome procrastination Part 2

Tip # 5 – Visualize the Completed Task

Imagine you have completed the task. See it completed. Let yourself feel the feelings you’re going to feel when the task is done. How will your life be improved? How will you feel about yourself?

It doesn’t matter if it’s a big project or a small one, this strategy works.

When you can imagine the outcome, it’s easier to get started on the work.

Tip # 6 –  Make it Fun

Think about what you can do to make the task fun. Would it be more enjoyable to do it at a coffee shop?

Could you listen to your favorite music while you work on the task?

Or maybe you can enlist a friend to keep you company or help you out. Even the most boring tasks can be more enjoyable with the right approach.

Tip #7 – Positive Mindset Development

Wipe away all negative thoughts and language around the task you’re procrastinating on.

For example, if you catch yourself thinking, “I hate cleaning my desk.” You might change that to “I love having a clean desk. I feel more productive and creative when I have a clean desk.”

Then, you can focus on what is possible about the task or project and let go of the negativity.

Tip #8 –  Break Up Projects

Break up large projects you’ve been procrastinating on into smaller bite sized tasks.

Often, we avoid doing some things because we know they’re going to take too long.

You control this. For example, instead of painting the entire house, you might paint one room each month until the project is done.

You get to decide how the project is managed and completed.

If you’re procrastinating on a work project, you may not get to decide how it’s managed but you can still break it up into smaller pieces that feel more doable.

Tip #9 – Group Similar Tasks and Projects

Sometimes a task you’re putting off doing is related to other tasks. For example, cleaning your desk and updating your files are two tasks that may overlap.

When you group similar tasks and projects, it helps you be more productive. It also helps you capitalize on a productive mindset and feel accomplished when you’re finished.

One project runs into the next and you are done with that dreaded project before you know it.

How To Get Started

Look at the tasks and projects you’ve been procrastinating on both in your personal and your professional life.

One of these nine strategies is sure to help you push through and get the job done.

Identify the strategy that may work best for you and enjoy your success. Procrastination doesn’t have to derail you or slow you down.

9 Tips to Overcome Procrastination and Boost Your Confidence – Part 1

June 5, 2018 by @elioverbey

Have you ever wanted to get healthier and not been able to get started or started but not been able to stay with it?

When next Monday arrived, she would procrastinate by finding other activities to keep her too busy to pay attention to her health.

Everyone procrastinates on something. It’s important to recognize that Francine and you are not alone, procrastination is normal, and there are strategies you can embrace to get through it.

In fact, procrastination is so common that strategies have been tested and proven. Here are the top nine tips to overcome procrastination.

Tip #1-  Give it Five or Ten Minutes

With this strategy, the objective is to spend five or ten minutes doing the task that you’ve been avoiding. The logic is that you can endure five minutes of anything.

If Francine could get started for 5 or 10 minutes she would be able to increase her time and find success.

Set yourself up for success by making a list of difficult things you have done or situations you’ve gotten through in five or 10 minutes.

Start each sentence with, “If I can _______ for 5 minutes, I can (insert task action) for 5 minutes. Repeat these to yourself as often as needed.

If you’ve been avoiding cleaning off your desk, spend five minutes on the task. That’s it. When the five minutes is up, you are free and clear to stop working on the task.

Of course, most often, once you get into doing something, you can continue. You’ll probably finish cleaning off that desk.

Tip #2 –  Find Your Why

Why are you procrastinating? There is often an underlying reason. Sure, maybe you just don’t like doing the task. But maybe there is another, deeper, reason behind your procrastination.

For example, a writer may procrastinate on the last chapter of their book because they’re afraid of feedback, rejection from editors, or the revision process.

Dig deep and try to figure out why you are procrastinating. Then, you’ll be able to face the project head on.

Tip # 3 –  Work on Your Self-Discipline

The truth is that you can benefit from a little more self-discipline. You probably don’t push yourself as much as you might. You don’t stick to the task, and you give up too easily – not all the time, but probably more than you’d like. So, start working on your self-discipline.

For example, you might run for one minute longer or eat one more serving of vegetables. Wake up 15 minutes earlier to make one more phone call each day. Start learning to push yourself just a little bit harder.

It’ll overlap into all areas of your life and you’ll be able to accomplish that project you’ve been dreading and avoiding.

Tip #4 – Set Realistic Goals

One of the biggest reasons that people avoid some projects, goals, or tasks is because they simply expect too much from themselves. They’re unrealistic.

A common example is the weight loss goal. “I’m going to lose 15 pounds this month,” sounds great on paper. It’s specific and it is time bound.

But is it realistic? Not really. Sure, it’s possible to lose that much in a month but it would require tremendous discipline, a great plan, and no mistakes.

Something that might be more realistic is “I’m going to lose a pound a week by cutting 500 calories out of my diet and walking for 20 minutes a day.”

This makes the plan feel more achievable and you’re less likely to procrastinate.

When setting goals for yourself, make sure you feel 80-90% confident you can achieve the goals you set for yourself.

You can do this, see strategies 5 through 9 in Part 2 – Read Part 2 Here
