Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning wheel or disk, sometimes referred to as “wheels of light”.
The energy present in each chakra affects us on all dimensions, the spiritual, emotional, physical and mental. These energy centers act as a gateway between dimensions such as the energy generated from emotional activity influencing the functions of our physical body. Or the energy generated from stress, and emotional state, does affect our physical body with nervousness, anxiety, etc. This interaction, in turn, influences our actions in the outside world and shapes our interactions with others.
Chakras are affected by our thoughts, beliefs, foods, exercise, meditation, alcohol, drugs, medications, music, chanting, and our actions. Each chakra vibrates or spins at its own frequency depending on the balance of that chakra with the entire system. If one chakra is over active or under active it impacts the functioning of every other chakra. This is the home of the energy center or chakra that oversees new beginnings, Spring, family dynamics, social interactions, intimacy, unresolved issues, and foot pain or problems. Each chakra also corresponds to a part of the Feng Shui bagua. Let’s take a look at the chakra and Feng Shui gua that is represented by Spring. Put your hand on your naval, drop down two inches and you will find it. Your “social center” or “feeling center”, your second chakra. The gua that is represented here is family and the past whether happy, dysfunctional, emotional, or unresolved. This is also the area where we establish our personal boundaries or lack of them. What is “seventh heaven” anyway? My mother would always say she was in “seventh heaven” anytime something wonderful happened. Sometimes she would use the term ” seventh heaven” to describe her longing for an experience yet to come. What does Feng Shui have to do with ‘seventh heaven”?
