As a guide and mentor for creatives, healers, and entrepreneurs I understand the ebb and flow of the creative process. You may find yourself staring at a blank canvas or computer screen with no clue how to tap into your creativity. Other times you may feel uninspired, afraid of failure, or burned out. You may ask yourself do I need a “Creativity Makeover”?

Let me share with you the “Creativity Makeover “journey of Sarah a passionate, innovative entrepreneur.

Before: Imagine Sarah, a dedicated entrepreneur, who once found herself stuck in a creative dry spell. Her days were uninteresting, without inspiration, and her projects suffered as a result.

She could not come up with any new ideas and her problem-solving skills were on vacation.

Sarah's creativity seemed to be a distant memory, lost within her the daily grind.

Do you ever find yourself stuck when you need your creative skills to move forward? Do you question what is causing this standstill?

It could be that your creative muscles haven't been flexed in a while, lying inactive and ignored.

After: Now, envision Sarah's “Creativity Makeover” after embracing the rituals and habits aimed at rejuvenating her creative spirit.

  • She began her mornings with a purpose, dedicating time to reading and allowing the words of others to inspire her thoughts and actions for the day.
  • She incorporated a free-writing process, called Morning Pages to start her day, as suggested in the book The Artists Way by Julia Cameron
  • She added ten minutes of meditation to her morning routine and reconnected with her intuition.
  • Sarah scattered deep breathing practices throughout her day and found it invigorating.
  • She added soft instrumental music to her creative space.

This change of incorporating daily habits into her routine tuned up her brain, making it easier for her to tap into her creative spirit.

Sarah also developed a daily creativity practice. No longer aiming for perfection, she found joy in writing brief articles, drawing during meetings, and capturing the beauty of sunsets through her camera/ This practice kept her creativity vibrant and dynamic.

Taking regular breaks became a cornerstone of her routine, offering her mind the respite needed to wander and uncover innovative solutions.

She made a conscious effort to disconnect from her devices, stepping outside to breathe in the fresh air, a practice that strengthened her creative thinking muscle.

She carried a small notebook everywhere to capture ideas, inspirations, and observations ready to be converted into articles, courses, and projects.

This habit of capturing fleeting thoughts laid the groundwork for innovative approaches in her work.

Engaging with her community, laughing, and sharing ideas became a source of joy and inspiration, rather than a distraction.

This social interaction became a catalyst for creativity, providing her with an abundance of perspectives and ideas.

Sarah embraced the “Three Ifs” questioning technique, challenging her usual patterns of thought and inviting a fresh idea.

You can use the “Three Ifs” to ask clever questions to inspire your thoughts on a concept.

Build your creativity by asking questions like these:

  1. What would happen if I changed it (the object, system, thought, belief, etc.)?
  2. What would I change or improve about it if I wanted to use it in 10 years?
  3. What would I do if I had a one-million-dollar investment to improve it?

These questions or ones like them, can be powerful tools to help you think differently. Have fun with it.

When you repeatedly use the three-question test in all types of situations. Ideas will begin to flow and enable you to think more creatively.

Sarah recognized her peak creative time was in the morning. This realization allowed her to harness her unique rhythm in the morning to maximize productivity and creative output.

Finally, Sarah surrounded herself with creative individuals, drawing from their energy and insight.

She learned the value of risk-taking, stepping outside her comfort zone, which in turn, unlocked new areas of possibility and innovation.

Through her “Creativity Makeover” Sarah demonstrates the journey from a stagnant state to a flourishing one, filled with inspiration, innovation, and boundless creativity.

Like Sarah, by adopting these practices, you can boost your creativity with confidence and grace, continually nurturing and expanding your creative potential. If Sarah can do it you can too.
