Here Is A Feng Shui Clearing Method and House Blessing You Can Use To Improve Your Peace of Mind

November 19, 2019 by @elioverbey

Imagine you are standing in the place you call home. How do you feel when you are there?

Are you at ease, relaxed and happy in your home?

Does your home nourish and replenish you?

Do you feel somehow “off” when you are in your home?  You know something is amiss and you can’t figure out why you just aren’t comfortable there. Or do you wake up stressed with all you have to get done?

When the energy in your home is not aligned with your desires it can be overwhelming. If the energy in your home is negative or stagnant it will impact all areas of your life including your peace of mind and well-being.

Your home can have the vibration of a sanctuary that nurtures you and contributes to your well-being and peace of mind. When your home has good “flow” the energy vibe is uplifting and positive, making it easier for you to be happy and have peace of mind.

Today I am going to share a 4 – step Feng Shui Clearing method and House Blessing that you can use to increase your well-being and peace of mind.

Creating a sacred space in your home matters.

Think of a time when you went into someone’s home and it felt chaotic. The chaos of the space made you uneasy and you probably wanted to leave as soon as possible.

That is because everything is energy and everything is connected. We connect with the energy of our spaces whether the energy is uplifting or draining and that energy impacts how we feel and how we function everywhere.

You can create sacred space within your home whether it is an altar you make for offerings, a meditation space, your special place to drink tea, or your creative studio. Sacred space is a place where you communicate with spirit, give thanks, and offer prayers.

Intentions Matter

You connect to your desires when you create intentions. When you say your intentions out loud you call the energy of the universe to support you. Writing intentions is a powerful process that allows you to refine and focus on exactly what you want.

Intentions are like the goalposts in a football game, they help you focus on where you are going. Imagine a football game without goalposts. The players would not know where to run with the ball. Chaos and confusion would be in charge.

Ceremony Matters

When you combine your intentions with sacred actions you create a powerful ceremony.  A ceremony can clear, boost and uplift the energy of your intentions and your home. The most important part of performing a ceremony is your sincerity. You must be 100% sincere to get the results you seek.

Step 1 – Preparation for the Feng Shui Clearing Method and House Blessing

  • Stand at your front door and notice how you feel there.
  • Walk clockwise around your house noticing how you feel in each area and room.
  • Make a note of your impressions and feelings.

Step 2 – Create Your Intentions

  • Begin by searching your heart. What do you desire?
  • Write your intentions following these guidelines:
    • State the intention as if it is already happening.
    • Eliminate the words “to be, try, and will”
    • Give yourself time to clarify your intentions.
    • Check your sincerity, you must be sincere for success.

Step 3– The Orange Peel Method For Clearing A Home

This method is used to clear negative, draining, stale, or stagnant energy from your home. Follow the instructions below:

  1. Purchase a fresh orange
  2. Sit in a peaceful place in your home to prepare the orange and sacred water.
  3. Cut 9 small, round, disk-like pieces(circles) of the rind only, not the orange.
  4. While cutting the orange rind think about the energy you would like to clear from your home and all the things you would like to be released.
  5. Place the orange pieces in a small bowl of water. Say your intentions into the bowl of water and orange pieces.
  6. Starting at the front door, walk through each room and sprinkle water by dipping the fingers with your right hand into the water. Use a flicking motion to sprinkle a small amount of water in each room. Visualize negative and stagnant energy is being released.
  7. Finish at the front door and give thanks for the energy clearing.

You can use the Orange Peel Method to clear energy in your home anytime you believe a clearing or boost in the vibration is needed.

Step 4 – The House Blessing

  • Begin by standing inside your home at the front door or at your altar if you have one.
  • Center yourself with a few deep breaths
  • Take a moment to connect with the energy of your home, your feelings of gratitude and love for the sacred space you live in.
  • Read the House Blessing. You can add your own words to any part of the blessing to make it your own. Or you can read it as is.
  • Remember to be sincere.

House Blessing For Your Home

May this house shelter your life.

When you come in home here,

May all the weight of the world

Fall from your shoulders.

May your heart be tranquil here,

Blessed by peace the world cannot give.

May this home be a lucky place,

Where the graces your life desires

Always find the pathway to your door.

May nothing destructive

Ever cross your threshold.

May this be a safe place

Full of understanding and acceptance,

Where you can be as you are,

Without the need of any mask

Of pretense or image.

May this home be a place of discovery,

Where the possibilities that sleep

In the clay of your soul can emerge

To deepen and refine your vision

For all that is yet to come to birth.

May it be a house of courage,

Where healing and growth are loved,

Where dignity and forgiveness prevail;

A home where patience of spirit is prized,

And the sight of the destination is never lost

Though the journey be difficult and slow.

May there be great delight around this hearth,

May it be a home of welcome

For the broken and diminished.

May you have the eyes to see

That no visitor arrives without a gift

And no guest leaves without a blessing.

~John O’Donohue

Step 5 – Post Ceremony Check

  • Stand at your front door and notice how you feel there
  • Walk clockwise around your home noticing how you feel in each area and room
  • What do you notice has changed after doing the orange peel method and house blessing?

You shift and move energy when you perform sacred ceremonies in your surroundings.

Some of the changes you may notice right away and other changes may be subtle and more noticeable over time.

When your home has the vibration of a peaceful sanctuary it nurtures you and contributes to your well-being and peace of mind.

When your home has good “flow” the energy vibration is uplifting and positive, supporting your happiness, health, and peace of mind.

11 Feng Shui Tips To Reduce Stress For The Holidays

December 11, 2018 by @elioverbey

Does the thought of gathering with your family for the holidays make you stressed, overwhelmed or cranky?  The holidays are supposed to be a time of joy, love, and happy families, but for many people feelings of loneliness, obligation, and stress surface as the holiday season gets underway.

I have talked with several people that are feeling overwhelmed by getting ready for the holidays and family gatherings this year. They are worried about having time to get everything done. The biggest worry seems to be bringing the family together in one place at one time.

Recently, a client asked me for Feng Shui advice to make her holidays with family more enjoyable and less stressful.

Even though many of her family members live in the same town, it seems that they only see one another during the holidays.

Many arrive to her home in a pleasant mood. It is not long until opinions differ, and the silent judgments begin, which is witnessed by the sharp glares and piercing looks in their eyes.

At first, critical comments are spoken softly, almost a whisper, as if no one were listening. Soon the tension builds, the glares get a voice, the volume escalates, people begin positioning themselves for protection or battle.  A new level of discomfort fills the room.

The fighters, visibly angry are looking for an argument. Those seeking protection begin to avoid talking to anyone. Not the happy holidays you wanted.

My client wants to use Feng Shui principles to create a peaceful and cooperative environment in her home.

Your home tells a story about you. What you experience in your life is visible in your home when you look with Feng Shui eyes.

Here is what you need to know to reduce family stress during the holidays.

The Family

One way to reduce family stress during the holidays is to evaluate the “family” area of your home.

There is an area of the Feng Shui Bagua (Feng Shui energy map) that is devoted to family. This area includes current and future family members, family health, family harmony, ancestors, and unresolved family issues.  Let’s look at that area in your home.

The family area is in the middle, left side of your home the items in this area of your home influences your current and future experiences of family.  It is worth a good look around this area.

What do you see there?  Is it your favorite armchair a healthy plant, beautiful art, the extra room that is a catch-all for clutter, or your Feng Shui Vision Board.  What do you feel in that area, happy, tired, depressed, inspired? Whatever you see and feel in that space is part of your family Feng Shui story.

Here are a few questions to ask yourself. What clues do the items in that area tell you about your family:

  • Peace
  • Harmony
  •  Health
  • Cooperation
  • Communication
  • Fun

Look closely at what you see and feel there and give yourself an honest evaluation.

Even one small change, such as clearing clutter makes a difference. It can be what gets the energy moving to transform everything.

Your Intentions

What you think as you anticipate your family gathering influences what you experience because your thoughts set your focus point. Your focus point determines how you see the situation.

As you think about, your holidays what do you think will happen? Do you have a feeling of family togetherness? Is there open communication between family members? Is there a history of holiday chaos?

And the big question, “What do you want?”

Take a few minutes to imagine your family gathering just the way you would like it to be and then visualize it happening that way. This is a powerful first step in creating what you want.

Your intention sets the stage for your actual experience.  Your visualization of that intention happening helps support your vision.

Once in the situation, you make choices based on your focus point and expectations for the gathering.

11 Feng Shui Tips To More Peace Of Mind During The Holidays

This holiday season holds great potential because you can create wonderful memories, have fun, heal old wounds, and feel appreciation for your family.

  1. Decide what you want, in as much detail as possible.
  2. Set an intention, see it happening, feel it as if it has already happened.
  3. Clear any clutter from your home, especially the area of “family” in the bagua. If you only take one action from this list, clearing clutter is by far the most important action you can take. Clutter is the most draining force in any area of the bagua. Wherever I see clutter I know there is a problem in one or more areas of life.
  4. Do one good deed each day.
  5. Take time to fill yourself up. Your giving is much fuller when you give from the place of fullness. What makes you feel recharged? A walk-in nature, listening to music, taking a hot bath, talking to a friend, reading a good book, meditating, going to the gym, or meeting with your Feng Shui Coach.
  6. Decorate the entrance to your home with lights and live plants.
  7. Decorate the inside of your home, especially the “family” area with lights, shiny decorations, live plants, candles, and if you have a Christmas tree the “family” area is a good place to put it.
  8. Use scents of the season, like evergreen boughs, mulled cider, frankincense and myrrh, spices, peppermint, and others that you like.
  9. Energize the house before people arrive by burning incense, offering blessings and prayers, saying your intentions out loud in the room, and play uplifting music, or hire a Feng Shui Consultant to do a house blessing ceremony.
  10. Celebrate and treat yourself to a hot bath, a soothing massage, or a cup of tea. Congratulations on a job well done.
  11. After everyone leaves to release any tension left behind by your guests.  Schedule a Space Clearing with a Feng Shui Consultant to release the energy of 2018 and uplift the space for 2019 to bring you peace of mind, radiant health, and prosperity.

You can have more peace of mind this holiday season by implementing these Feng Shui tips.

Feng Shui Invisible Forces: How They Affect You

November 8, 2017 by @elioverbey

There are 2 energy forces at work in your home and workplace. The visible forces and the invisible forces. Visible forces are the physical features of the space that you can see. The invisible forces are the energetic forces such as flow through the space, lingering feelings or behaviors of previous occupants and invisible occupants such ghosts and spirits. Every person that has ever occupied your current space has left an energy deposit of their experiences, thoughts, and behaviors there.

Who occupied your home or workplace before you? Were they prosperous, happy, and successful or did they go bankrupt, get divorced or have health problems? Why did they move out? Do you know anything about the people that occupied your space before you? If you are the first occupant in a space, the questions you ask are about the land and what happened there before your building was constructed. The answers to these questions tell you if there are positive or negative energies lingering in your space. [Read more…]
