When HH Grandmaster Lin Yun Rinpoche was asked what we could do to help the USA’s economic crisis he told us to get everyone to do a good deed a day for 27 days in a row.

Because the crisis was created by compounded greed the solution is to do good deeds also known as random acts of kindness.

So come on let’s be pro-active and turn this thing around! It really is that simple.

One good deed a day for 27 days.

I remember a time when a friend called, she wanted someone to listen. Listen by being fully present with her. She needed space for honoring her process without any comments from me. I breathed in and settled into my heart space and gave her the attention she needed.  I did a good deed for her. She was so appreciative to me for listening.  I found out later that she had been considering suicide because she felt so burdened by what was going on in her life. Because she felt listened to she was able to release pent up emotions and feelings and look at many options. Think back on a time when you did a good deed for someone else. How did it make them feel? How did it make you feel? Imagine hundreds of thousands of people doing good deeds for others everyday.
